Our History

Established in 1935, Harlow Moving & Storage has been a prescence in the Southern Illinois community ever since. Mr. Harlow's inspiration was to provide the city of Mt. Vernon, IL with a service that at the time was not available to the people. By starting his moving company and expanding the services to be accessible by anyone, Harlow Moving was up in running.
In the early 1970's Mr. Harlow sold the company to Robert H. Tate who then carried on Mr. Harlow's desire to bring the moving serivce to Mt. Vernon. Not only did Robert carry on Mr. Harlow's dedication and tradition he carried on the company's name for many years to come.
Now, in 2017, Harlow Moving & Storage is being operated by Robert's son, Jason Tate. Jason has once again carried on the dedication to the town as well as the rest of the country by providing them with a reliable and respected moving company. Through the years one thing that has not changed is the name,Harlow Moving & Storage. We will continue to make moving easier for families for many years to come.
